The retreat will be held at the beautiful Camp River Ranch in Carnation, WA. The dance class space overlooks Lake Langois and is just steps from the Tolt River, surrounded by gorgeous temperate rain forest.

Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago celebrates it 42nd year with their 2014 Summer Concert and Gala 'The Continuum". The Continuum will take you on a journey of movement, music, and song. There will be special guest performances by Amina Dickerson and an original work by Moustapha Banoura. Also, performing with the company, Seneke West African Percussion Ensemble. Muntu will also feature student performers from the Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) choreographed by Artistic Director Amaniyea Payne and Assistant Director Idy Ciss.

Camp Fareta

Camp Fareta is a residential workshop hosted by Youssouf Koumbassa, a master dancer, choreographer, and teacher from Guinea, West Africa, and featuring many other master dancers and drummers from Guinea, Mali, and Senegal. It is an immersion in West African drum and dance that started in 2006 and is held at a beautiful setting in the southern Sierras of California each summer.
